View across TorbayFor many people the attraction of a break in Torquay is the favourable weather conditions combined with stunning scenery and views. The word 'tor' means hill or rocky peak, and 'quay' is a landing place for loading and unloading ships. Hence Torquay being a natural harbour surrounded by hills and peaks.
